Showtime!

Many dance academies and dance teachers in Norway have their own show groups and student show teams. Oslo Caribbean Feeling is a great opportunity to present their work, in the wonderful venue of Sentralen.

We welcome two student teams from Salsakompaniet (Oslo), Lene´s student show team (Stavanger) and Dancecity Bachata Ladies show team (Oslo).

Salsakompaniet in Oslo is presenting two of their student teams, their Bachata student team and Salsa student team. The teams consists of  the most advanced students in Salsakompaniet, representing the dance academy at dance events and festivals nationally and internationally. The bachata choreography is created by the founder of Bachata Sensual, Judith Cordero, and norewegian Salsa champion, Jazzy Ruiz. The main goal for the show teams is to spread the joy of dance and inspire others to take their hobby to the next level.

Lene Bjelland is the choreographer and trainer of the student show team from The Stage Dance Academy in Stavanger. Lene started her dancing career at the age of 5 dancing classical ballet for 12 years before she discovered salsa and the latin dances in 2001. She quickly developed a love and passion for salsa. Lene started teaching in 2006, and she has been to numerous salsa festivals all across the world learning from the best. She started joining show teams and has performed at the New York Salsa Congress, Berlin Salsa Congress, Hot Salsa Weekend in Stockholm, Stage Dance Festival etc. During the spring 2017 she created her own show team and choreographed a partner routine with 5 couples, and the show was presented for the first time at the Stage Dance Festival in September 2017. In Oslo there will be 3 couples, and the team consists of the following people: Lene Bjelland (choreographer and trainer), Nenad Manojlovic, Gulia Shafikova, Erlend Kveinen, Kristin Helland and Aanen Aanensen.

Finally the most recent show team created in Oslo, Dancecity´s Bachata Ladies show team, will perform during Oslo Caribbean Feeling. We are anxious to see what all these groups have been practicing the last months. Break a leg!! 😉
